Afternoon tea in Budapest? Take a gourmet break in the afternoon with a cup of tea and sweet and savoury dishes in the magnificent setting of a palace. It’s the perfect time to relax between visits and savour the delights, as a couple or with friends.

The tradition of Afternoon Tea or Tea time dates back to around 1840 when Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, a close friend of Queen Victoria and an important figure in London society, became hungry around 4pm. She asked for a tray containing tea, bread, butter and cakes to be brought to her room. She wanted a little something to satisfy her hunger, so that she wouldn’t be hungry again until dinnertime. Thus was born the ritual of Afternoon Tea.

So why not take advantage of your visit to Budapest to enjoy a warm and chic afternoon tea in one of the Hungarian capital’s palaces!
